Easily the most fun I've had with a level in a while. Shoutouts to enemy asymmetry for starters. The subtle gradient was great, but the star of the level were the patterns and the way you constantly reestablished symmetry through patterns over and over again. It was also really clever to have the player figure out where exactly the bullets were going to cross, which then also played into the main message of the lyrics, which is just, ooh, so good.

Nothing in the level felt out of place and every pattern felt beatable, especially just looking at it on a pattern by pattern basis, and yet they were all still challenging. And again, with the gradient of colours, it left a really welcome ambiance between dejected and angry. It felt like you understood this song. I'm especially glad there were no hugs that felt impossible to get, even though at the start of most patterns it seemed impossible (which again forced me to think about where the bullets were going and how they would intersect.)

So yes, I absolutely agree this is your best level yet and I'm happy to have played it! This just such a good concept executed well

This is the first Waved level that I can recognize beyond being a Waved level.

A major flaw I tend to find in Waved's levels is that they seem to be too inspired. That is, they lean too much on the works of other people.

This is different.

Of course, there is some visible influence, once you start comparing this level to things like CodeQuazar's recent release Summer of the Occult (which is also very impressive and is very much worth checking out). But this level is a standout because it's more of it's own, if that makes sense.

I have my gripes about this level, but it was quite a fun ride, and I'm glad it got on the level list in the end. I'm looking forward to see if Waved can go even further.

Light to Decent 8 / 10
